The annual OU-Texas game is approaching once again and fans are heading to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas to witness the iconic Red River Rivalry. For those without tickets who still want to be close to the action, several Dallas venues will be showing the game.
Happiest Hour
Sports bar Happiest Hour will host an 818 tailgate sponsored by UberEats before the game. At kickoff, the bar will have more than 40 TVs and jumbo LED screens streaming the game along with a menu featuring loaded cheddar fries, foot-long mozzarella logs and a nacho tower.
Guests can watch the game from inside, on the outdoor patio or on the lawn. After the game, the bar will host an after-party with live DJ performances. General admission tickets start at $25 online.
The tailgate is 9 a.m. to noon at 2616 Olive St. Happiest Hour is open 4 p.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday.
Legacy Hall
The Lexus Box Garden at Legacy Hall will host a pregame party featuring DJ Disko Cowboy, with music continuing during commercial breaks. Throughout the day, there will be photo opportunities, face painting and giveaways including team-colored foam footballs, rally towels and more.
Guests can enjoy gameday specials such as the TX/OU Roll from Horu Sushi, the Donut Burger Slider “Little Tex” and Dubai Chocolate Shake from Son of a Butcher. After the game, the venue will host an after-party featuring artist Alex Lambert.
Doors for the watch party open at 12:30 p.m. at 7800 Windrose Ave. Entry is free with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. RSVP for the after-party online.
Truck Yard
Truck Yard will feature live DJ performances during commercial breaks and photo opportunities with spirit cheerleaders. Food trucks, including Freshnez and Flaming Grill Barbeque, will be available throughout the day.
For guests 21 and older, the venue will host a football squares game with gift card prizes increasing each quarter.
The event is 1 to 10 p.m. at 5624 Sears St. and is free to attend.
Grandscape
The Corona Stage & Lawn at Grandscape has a number of restaurants that will be open throughout the day, including Quartino Ristorante from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Puttery from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tande Thai from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Whether cheering for the Longhorns or Sooners, fans can enjoy a lively atmosphere filled with friendly rivalry.
Free parking is available. The watch party is 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at 5752 Grandscape Blvd. and is free to attend.
