The game was originally set to begin at 5 p.m. EST on SEC Network before being moved to 1 p.m. EST and later called off. OU reached the finale of the tournament after defeating the University of Arkansas 8-6 in the semifinals and Louisiana State University 4-1 in the quarterfinals, and Texas A&M overcame the University of Texas 14-2 in the semifinals and University of South Carolina 12-4 in the quarterfinals.
With OU's rich history of softball success, including four national championships from 2021 to 2024, fans are not pleased with the SEC's decision.
Such a cop out!!!They didn’t want to see an OU outright SEC championship

This is so weak by the @SEC and @GregSankey . Why not play tomorrow? How much did aTm pay the SEC to not get the Sooner Smoke?

However, due to OU winning the regular-season title, it has earned an automatic qualifier for the 2025 national tournament, which selection for is 7 p.m. EST Sunday on ESPN2.
