Tyler Johnson is set to join OU baseball's staff in an assistant role, according to D1 Baseball's Kendall Rogers.
Tyler, the son of OU head coach Skip Johnson, will join the Sooners after spending last year as an assistant and recruiting coordinator at Dallas Baptist University (32-26). He was the head coach of McLennan Community College in Texas before then, where he also held the title of assistant. He helped 44 players earn all-conference honors in six years at McLennan with seven being selected in the MLB Draft.
Johnson replaces Todd Butler, who decided to head to Florida following the Sooners' 2026 national championship.
