OU baseball assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Todd Butler is set to join Florida in the same roles, according to College Baseball Central reporter Andrew Riedell.
Butler, who has been an assistant coach at OU since June 2023, has produced 10 top-10 national recruiting classes across his collegiate coaching career, including time at Wichita State and McNeese State as a head coach and experience coaching and recruiting at Alabama, Arkansas and Missouri. He spent three years as senior associate athletics director at McNeese State prior to coaching the Sooners.
He played for the Sooners under former head coach Enos Semore and still holds the program single-season record for stolen bases with 46, set in 1988. He also earned third-team all-American, all-region and all-Big Eight conference honors his senior season. He transferred to OU heading into the 1987 season after spending the 1985-86 seasons at McNeese State.
Butler's move comes after the Sooners won the 2026 College World Series. AYS Sports reports he will receive "a large salary increase" with the Gators.
