White Buffalo Coffee Bar announces new location on Campus Corner.

White Buffalo Coffee Bar, a veteran-owned coffee shop founded in Oklahoma, opened at 760 Asp Ave., according to a Thursday Instagram post.

The company was founded in 2017 by Jeremy Buxton, a former instructor pilot in the Air Force, who opened a coffee shop while he was stationed in Altus, Oklahoma, according to the shop’s website. The store currently has over 15 stores across Oklahoma and Texas.

Holly Morris, store manager at the Campus Corner location, said this marks the company’s 19th store.

Morris said the store has about 12 employees, most of them OU students. Morris said that for the grand opening the store had giveaways and free samples for customers.

“We had a line about 45 minutes before we opened outside the door,” Morris said.

Morris said the company was excited to open a store near OU’s campus.

“The opportunity presented itself. We could just not be more excited to be on OU campus and be serving all the college students,” Morris said.

On Sept. 26, the Campus Corner Starbucks at 225 W. Boyd St. announced it would close due to nationwide cuts announced earlier that week.

Less than a week later, Beanstalk Coffee and Sno announced it will open a location at 582 Buchanan Ave. on Campus Corner.
