According to Norman City Attorney Rick Knighton, the plaintiffs submitted a motion for oral arguments and a request for additional briefing.
Knighton said if denied, the lawsuit will continue as an accelerated appeal without additional briefing, and will be resolved with the Oklahoma Supreme Court's ruling.
“There really isn’t any need for further briefing or argument,” Knighton said. “The court has what it needs to be able to make the decision.”

OU announced Sunday men's golf head coach Ryan Hybl will resign from the program at the end of the season and join Georgia Tech.
He has coached OU to 51 team tournament wins, 15 consecutive NCAA championship appearances and the 15 best single-season scoring averages in school history in his 17 years with the program. Notably, he guided the Sooners to a team national championship in 2017. He was named the 2018 and 2021 Big 12 coach of the year and the 2022 Dave Williams national coach of the year.
Hybl said in a statement that he decided to join Georgia Tech to be closer to family.

The latest water intrusion inspection of Norman Public Library Central, released Friday, recorded elevated temperature and humidity levels but no active moisture intrusion in the accessible areas of the building.
The library has faced repeated water intrusion and mold issues over the past two years, and Cavins Group is contracted by the city to inspect the building’s interior following weather events.
According to the report, inspectors found no signs of active moisture intrusion in any of the areas previously affected. The report states small amounts of water were collected in several water diversion tarps, but that the tarps are functioning as intended and prevented water from impacting interior materials.
Summer 2026 campus dining options, hours
As the summer begins, here’s a list of what will be open on campus, according to the OU Housing and Food Services website.
Couch Restaurants will operate on a split‑schedule throughout the summer, with hours adjusted around summer camp programming. On weekdays, it will be open from 7 to 9 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Couch Restaurants will also be open on weekends from 8 to 10 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. According to the website, not all menu items will be available during the summer.
Residential colleges’ dining halls open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.
Wagner Dining Hall will be closed until June 15, when it will open from 8 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will remain closed on weekends.
Oklahoma Memorial Union
Restaurants at the Union will open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, including Baja Fresh, Chick-fil-A, and Quiznos. The Union Market will open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Range inside the Union Market will open from 8 a.m to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Starbucks will open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The hot bar in the Union Market will not open and the salad bar will be available starting at 10 a.m.
Coffee shops
Amicus Cafe, located in the OU College of Law, will open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Cafe 201, located in the Innovation Hub, will open from 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Flying Cow Cafe, located in the National Weather Center, will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Headington Hall and McCasland Hall
The Grind, located in McCasland Hall, will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Einstein Bros. Bagels, located in Headington Hall, will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
