The Blooming Mystic, a sister-owned crystal store and wellness center with reiki healing, will have its grand opening Saturday.
Energy healing has been a part of sisters Leslie Hicks, Amanda McCart and Renee Shaktivel their entire lives, with their grandmother who practices reflexology, aunt who practices limpia and reiki and grandfather who is a shaman in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The three created The Blooming Mystic after their spiritual paths came together.
“We all kind of started off on our spiritual path at different times, but then I guess a couple years ago, we all kind of started coming together more on that path,” Hicks said. “One day, we were sitting around, and we're talking about all of our rings and how we didn’t have anywhere to put our rings. We're like, ‘we need to make crystal ring holders.’”
In 2023, they started doing markets across the state, selling handcrafted crystal ring holders, suncatchers, reiki-infused sprays and more. The trio attended the monthly Norman Twilight Market in 2024. Hicks said the universe told them to open a storefront in their hometown, Norman.
“It just kind of seemed fitting,” Shaktivel said. “We had a Reiki room in Yukon, and then the store closed down and we were like, ‘Well, what are we going to do?’ And then that night, this (location) popped up. so it was just meant to be.”

McCart said that every part of the shop, from the products and services to the setup, is intentional. They hand-pick all of the crystals and make most of the products themselves.
The Blooming Mystic offers reiki energy healing, energy cleansing and sound healing sessions. Appointments and prices are available online. They also offer a variety of classes, from meditation to the fundamentals of tarot with their youngest sister, Regan Swan from Project Joy Mystic.
“When we first went into a lot of this, you know, we were learning on our own and trying to navigate that without really having the tools to know how to navigate a lot of our beliefs,” McCart said. “Having a place that we could have gone to ask questions or get energy healing, I think would have been helpful I know, for my journey starting out.”
Shaktivel said the community and businesses like STASH, who previously sold Blooming Mystic ring holders, have been very supportive and given them positive feedback. All three sisters are excited and have good feelings about opening.
“Our neighbors here are phenomenal,” Hicks said. “We've already met quite a few of them, and they're generous and sweet, so we're excited.”
For the grand opening, there will be donuts in the morning, hair tinsel, giveaways and discounts on services, and Swan will do tarot readings from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We wanted to create a store that anyone and everyone would feel welcome in,” Hicks said. “No matter what path, what life path you're on, or where you're at in life, somewhere, we can come in, it's light, bright, happy and you can feel comfortable... It's hard to find other people of like minds, you know, and find that camaraderie, so it's nice to be able to provide that community.”
The Blooming Mystic grand opening will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 15. Information on future classes and events can be found online. The Blooming Mystic is located at 1315 24th Ave SW, Building C.
