OU softball head coach Patty Gasso announced Friday that redshirt sophomore third baseman Nelly McEnroe-Marinas will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after sustaining a torn ACL against Southeastern Louisiana this past Sunday.
The injury occurred when McEnroe-Marinas collided with freshman catcher Kendall Wells while trying to catch a foul ball.
McEnroe-Marinas had been managing a shoulder injury prior to the ACL tear. Gasso rested her in five games last weekend, using her briefly as a substitute before returning her to the starting lineup for Sunday’s contest against Southeastern Louisiana.
Through 19 games this season, McEnroe-Marinas started 16 contests and posted a .462 batting average with three home runs and 16 RBIs. She holds a career .360 average with 18 home runs and 64 RBIs across 80 games. As a redshirt freshman last season, she captained the Sooners and earned First Team All-SEC honors.
The Sooners remain in Norman for the Okana Invitational, facing Abilene Christian at 2 p.m. Saturday on SEC Network+.
