OU is set to hire Ken Guthrie as assistant director of scouting/player personnel, according to D1 Baseball's Kendall Rogers Monday night.

He served as a North Texas/Oklahoma area scout for the New York Mets this past season. He was the Baltimore Orioles' top scout previously. He scouted outfielder Heston Kjerstad, who played in the All-Star Futures Game in 2023. He also scouted second baseman Jackson Holliday, who was an all-star finalist in 2025 and also played in the 2023 All-Star Futures Game.

Guthrie's move to Norman comes after former OU assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Todd Butler departed for Florida. The Sooners have also hired Skip Johnson's son, Tyler, in an assistant role since Butler's departure.
