WATCH: OU women's gymnastics beats Arkansas on Jan. 31, securing another win this season

​​No. 1 Oklahoma beat No. 13 Arkansas 197.828-195.975 on Friday night in Norman.

The Sooners (9-0, 3-0 SEC) defeats the Razorbacks (3-5, 1-2 SEC) to bring their win streak to nine in a row behind senior Jordan Bowers and junior Faith Torrez who tied for the all around with 39.725.

“We just want to go out there and do our best gymnastics,” said Torrez. “We want to come out here and(...)really just feed off the energy of Sooner nation. And it makes it easier.”

Here are takeaways and highlights from the win:

To start the meet on vault, Faith Torrez led all gymnasts with a 9.950 and propelled OU over Arkansas 49.400-49.050

“Vault was really good today,” said head coach K.J. Kindler. “Ours was much improved, especially our landings. It was definitely our best event tonight.”

Lily Pederson began on bars with a strong 9.925, but Faith Torrez and Audrey Davis ultimately tied for the event high with a 9.950 to win the event 49.675-48.850 and extend the overall lead to 99.075-97.900 through the first two events.

The Sooners were able to secure the win in beam behind an event high 9.950 from Jordan Bowers. They defeated the Razorbacks 49.300-49.075.

Even with a remarkable performance on floor from Arkansas’ Frankie Price that ended with a score of 9.850, Jordan Bowers was able to give the Sooners the edge with an event-high score of 9.950. The meet concluded with a score of 197.828-195.975 as Oklahoma continues its winning streak against ranked opponents and remains the No. 1 program in the nation.

Next, Oklahoma will face Kentucky on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
