Stutsman becomes the Sooners' 83rd consensus All-American in their history, following the likes of former wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and former linebacker Curtis Lofton. Â Stutsman is the first Sooner to earn the honor since Lamb in 2019 and the first Sooner linebacker since Lofton in 2007, making him the ninth linebacker in school history to receive the award. Â With Stutsman earning the recognition, the Sooners rank sixth nationally among FBS programs for number of consensus All-Americans in a school's history (83) and lead the nation for recipients of the honor since 1950 (81).
During the 2024 season, Stutsman finished with a team-high 110 total tackles, including 44 solo tackles. Â He recorded the 18th most total tackles and 10th most solo tackles among linebackers in FBS. Â Contributing to his season total, Stutsman had a career-high 19 tackles against Missouri on Nov. 9, the most by a Sooner since 2018.
Stutsman joins Iowa's Jay Higgins and Buffalo's Shaun Dolac as the only linebackers to receive enough votes to be recognized as consensus All-Americans in 2024.
