OU men's basketball head coach Porter Moser has made a midseason addition to the roster, as Russian center Kirill Elatontsev has committed to the Sooners and is expected to play this season.

The 6-foot-11 center spent the 2024-25 season playing professionally for Lokomotiv Kuban in the VTB United League. In 37 games, Elatontsev averaged seven points and 4.4 rebounds. Elatontsev’s production earned him recognition as the VTB United League’s Best Young Player for the second consecutive season. He has also competed at the national-team level for Russia.

Elatontsev has been cleared by the NCAA and has one semester of eligibility remaining.
