OU will play Texas at in the 2026 Red River Rivalry game at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 10, as announced on the SEC Network Wednesday.
OU lost its 2025 matchup with Texas 23-6. Redshirt senior John Mateer had just returned from injury and finished with only 202 passing yards while recording three interceptions. It also marked head coach Brent Venables' third loss in the head coach’s four years with the Sooners.
The Sooners will play the Longhorns on ABC or ESPN.
Game time windows for Mississippi, Texas A&M, Missouri
The SEC Network also announced Wednesday the game time windows for OU's matchups with Mississippi, Texas A&M and Missouri.
OU will play Mississippi in the afternoon window Nov. 14. The Sooners lost their 2025 matchup with Mississippi 34-26. Mateer threw 17 of 31, his third-lowest completion percentage of the season, after struggling in the pass game even more in the previous game against Texas.
OU will play Texas A&M in the early time window Nov. 21. The Sooners are yet to play the Aggies since rejoining the SEC in July 2024. They lost to A&M in their last matchup, falling 41-13 in the Cotton Bowl in 2013.
OU will play Missouri in the afternoon window on Nov. 28. The Sooners defeated the Tigers 17-6 in 2025. Mateer threw his lowest completion percentage of the season against Missouri, but the Sooner defense guided the team to a win.
