Through his four years at OU, Thomas tallied 17 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss, including nine sacks in 2024. He had his senior year shortened with a hamstring injury suffered against Tennessee on a play that resulted in Thomas scoring. He later returned for the first-round playoff game against Alabama.

Thomas will bring an immediate impact to Kansas City, a team that ranked No. 10 in pass rush rate last season.
The NFL Draft kicked off Thursday night in Pittsburgh, where OU extended its streak without a first-round selection. The drought dates back to 2023 when offensive lineman Anton Harrison was taken 27th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Saturday will be the final day of the draft, with rounds four through seven being broadcast from 11 a.m to 8 p.m on ABC, ESPN and the NFL Network.
