Former Oklahoma wide receiver Marquise Brown was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

He becomes the second Oklahoma player drafted this season and is the first Oklahoma wide receiver taken in the first-round since Mark Clayton in 2005.

Leading up to draft day, it was unsure exactly where Brown might be selected, as he was unable to train at the scouting combine due to a Lisfranc injury. He first suffered a foot injury in the 2018 Big 12 Championship game against Texas and — likely as a result of the injury — did not have a single reception in the Orange Bowl (College Football Playoff semifinal) against No. 1 Alabama.

In two years with the Sooners, Brown racked up 17 receiving TDs and had over 1300 receiving yards in 2018 on the way to receiving first-team All-Big 12 and first-team all American honors.

NFL.com lists one of Brown’s top strengths as “[He] plays with all-day energy and terrifying top-end speed.”
