Dawn Brockman, dean of students at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and former Norman High School teacher, won the Office 4 seat on the Norman Public Schools Board of Education.

Former Norman High School teacher Dawn Brockman defeated opponent Prosperity Bank Vice President Scott Christian for the Norman Public Schools Board of Education Office 4 seat Tuesday evening. 

Of the over 2,700 total votes cast, 54.22% voted for Brockman and 45.78% for Christian, according to unofficial results from the Oklahoma State Election Board. 

Brockman did not respond to OU Daily’s request for comment. 

Brockman currently works as dean of students at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Her campaign emphasized transparency of issues in Norman Public Schools including mental health, school resource officer funding, teacher retention, funding and diversity and inclusion.

Christian did not respond to OU Daily’s request for comment.
