Find the ideal study location to keep focused

Collaborative Learning Center

The renovated lower level of Bizzell Library, the Collaborative Learning Center, is a good study spot during Dead Week and Finals Week.

In case you’re still on a study grind, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite study spots around campus to keep you focused for finals.

The library: lower level one

Recently renovated and filled with plenty of sitting space, the lower level of the library may be the spot to study this finals season. And, just a few steps from the seating areas is Bookmark Cafe for easy caffeine access. In addition to the bountiful number of outlets for all your technological needs, the spaces available are diverse enough for even the pickiest studier. If you like sharing a community space, plop yourself down at one of the booths. If you’re more of a secluded studier, make use of the study rooms, separated from the rest of the space by huge glass panels. This way, you’re not missing out on anything, but you can shut out the outside noises.

Campus Corner: coffee shops

Some places have rules about their Wi-Fi, so make sure you know the specifics of the space before you camp out for hours and hours. Coffee shops can be some of the coziest places to get your study on. If you like the stimulation of the hustle and bustle around you, but still need your own space, be sure to bring headphones to create the ideal work environment.

Gaylord College: second floor

If the color-changing dome isn’t inviting enough, the comfy chairs and pleasant view from the second floor might be enough to get you to visit. In one corner you’ve got outlets, a table and sofas. What more could you need for a study campsite? For Gaylord students, the creative lounge on the second floor is another great spot to be productive.

The union: second floor

If you’re a group studier, it’s best to find community spaces that can accommodate all the laptops, note sharing and noise that comes with group study sessions. This means a need for table space and virtually no time constraints. While it’s easy to overlook the Oklahoma Memorial Union as a spot for studying, don’t forget there are multiple levels and areas to camp out in besides the obvious food court and booths.
