The Norman Twilight Market will be hosting the second annual Twilight Trick or Treat Boos & Brews on Saturday, along with Norman Twilight Market's first anniversary celebration.
Norman Twilight Market is a monthly night market that hosts free events including kids activities, yard games, pet adoption and features many local vendors. Events manager Lorilee Colbert said that Norman Twilight Market saw the need and potential for a night market in Norman, as an investment in the city's economy.
“We decided to launch a night market in Norman to help promote small business and to keep those tax dollars here instead of seeing them go to benefit other cities,” Colbert said. "We also are very community-oriented and strive to provide fun activities for the families to participate in while they shop with our local vendors.”
The theme of October’s market is Twilight Trick or Treat Boos & Brews, just in time for Halloween.
The Norman Twilight Market partners with 405 Brewing Co., which serves as the exclusive brewery of the market. The brewery will have a booth on Saturday with sealed cans of their locally crafted brews, featuring 405 Premier, brewed specially for the October market.
Over 80 local businesses will have booths at this month’s event, including food trucks, jewelry-makers, boutiques, baked goods, local authors, bath and body products, leather goods and local art. Several booths will be passing out candy to kids.
Alongside vendors, the Norman Twilight Market will also have entertainment. The band “Let's Just Talk” will play a variety of covers and original songs from 7-9 p.m.
Yard games will be provided by The Blue Sparrow Apothecary, face painting sponsored by Double Horn Injury Law, kids arts and crafts by Thinkable In Life and a photo booth by All About Now Photography, all free of charge.
Vehicles provided by the Norman Fire Department, Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, Oklahoma Electric Cooperative, Norman Regional Health System EMSSTAT, Cleveland County District 3 and the Norman Sanitation Division will be featured in a touch-a-truck event from 5 p.m. until dark. Premiere Dance Academy will perform at 6:30 p.m.
Since Twilight Trick or Treat Boos & Brews is a family event, guests are encouraged to bring and enter their pets in the 6 p.m. pet costume contest. Dog adoptions with Norman Animal Welfare will be available at the market, with waived fees for the evening.
The Norman Twilight Market aims for a night of fun to be enjoyed by those of all ages.
“We aim to provide a safe trick-or-treat environment for the community,” Colbert said. “And encourage our guests to shop with our local vendors who will be passing out candy to the kiddos.”
Twilight Trick or Treat Boos & Brews takes place Saturday from 5-9 p.m. at the Cleveland County Wellness Square. Trick-or-treating may close earlier if vendors run out of candy. No ticket or registration is needed for the event.
