Local indie electronic band Tallows took the stage at Sooner Theatre Friday night with the electricity you would expect and an added surprise: modern dancers.
While the show opened with just the band on stage, elevated on platforms and scrunched together, Tallows hit their stride quickly after a few monitor adjustments.
Frontman Josh Hogsett wasted no time making a joke about their close quarters, and introducing the dancers to the stage. The dancers added incredible energy to the already ecstatic crowd.
Tallows took advantage of Sooner Theatre's acoustics and sounded great. The set list was jam packed, and there was never a dull moment.
The band's sound was on point, every beat hit and the dancers hit it with them. The added projections with the dancers on a screen behind the band added to the ambiance, one that reminded me of bands like Beach House.
The crowd was invested in the band's creativity with bringing other performers to the stage and whooped and hollered throughout the performance.
Tallows is clearly a band on the rise, with a loyal local following and the creativity and innovation of inviting dancers to perform with them. It's obvious they are making a name for themselves.
