Kiki Smith, a prominent artist, will soon be at OU to present "An Afternoon with Kiki Smith," which will accompany the exhibit "Kiki Smith and Paper: The Body, the Muse, and the Spirit."
Attendees to the event are encouraged to arrive early due to limited seating and anticipated high attendance.
Smith will be accompanied by panel speakers including Jennifer Borland, associate professor of art at Oklahoma State University, and independent curator Wendy Weitman.
"Kiki Smith and Paper: The Body, the Muse, and the Spirit" was curated by Weitman and is in the OSU Museum of Art’s New York Project Series, which brings the work of renowned New York artists for exhibition in Oklahoma.
According to a press release, Smith’s exhibition "Kiki Smith and Paper: The Body, the Muse, and the Spirit" explores her perspective on the female body's form that is translated through her passion for paper.
The panel will be moderated by Mark White, the Wylodean and Bill Saxon director of the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art.
