The ongoing expansion debate for the Big 12 is causing "infighting" among the leaders at the University of Oklahoma, CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd says. 

While OU President David Boren has been vocal about his wishes to expand the conference to 12 teams, board of regents chairman Max Weitzenhoffer says he will try to push Boren in a different direction. 

"I can tell you I'm not alone," Weitzenhoffer told CBS Sports. 

Weitzenhoffer claims Oklahoma City Thunder chairman Clay Bennett is also against Big 12 expansion. 

"We just want to (Boren) know, we don't like it," Weitzenhoffer told CBS Sports. "If it goes forward, it may get to the point where we may not be able to stop it."

Expansion talk has come to the forefront in recent days after Big 12 coaches were presented data that showed a 10-15 percent increase in likelihood of having a representative in the College Football Playoff if the conference expands to 12 teams. If the Big 12 does expand, it's chances of having a playoff team would approach 75 percent in any given year, per Navigate Research. 

Big 12 presidents will meet from May 31 to June 3.
