Oklahoma (3-5) fell to DePaul (6-3) 87-76, Sunday afternoon.
The first quarter started out very sloppy for the Sooners as they struggled on both offense and defense. Oklahoma played better towards the end of the quarter but the Blue Demons were too much.
The second quarter was more the same, although the Blue Demons were able to blow open the lead. The Sooners could not contain DePaul on either side of the ball as the Blue Demons went into halftime with a 23-point lead.
Oklahoma looked like a completely different team when the third quarter started. The Sooners were able to score and force turnovers on defense. Oklahoma would then go on a 19-2 run in the middle of the quarter and eventually cut the lead to eight to start the fourth quarter.
The Sooners could not capitalize on the momentum from the end of the third quarter as DePaul fought back. The lead was cut to six at the beginning of the quarter but the Blue Demons were able to run away with the win.
For the Sooners, sophomore guard Shaina Pellington led the way on offense with 19 points and nine assists. Freshman forward Madi Williams added on 18 points going 7-of-14 from the field.
Oklahoma's next game will be at home against UConn Dec. 19.
