Oklahoma head coach Porter Moser officially announced the hiring of Justin Scott as assistant coach on Wednesday afternoon.

Scott spent six years at Saint Joseph's as an associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, gaining experience in player development and scouting as well.

"We're extremely excited to welcome Justin to the OU family," said Moser in a statement. "He brings a wealth of experience as a former head coach, and as the associate head coach at Saint Joseph's the last six years. He's got great recruiting ties on the East Coast, and in this day and age it's important for staffs to have those relationships and connections across the country."

Scott is the latest addition to the program this offseason, as Moser has landed multiple transfers out of the portal. On April 22, Moser officially announced the signing of guard Xzayvier Brown, who is the stepson of Scott. Brown played under Scott for two years at Saint Joseph's and is coming off a sophomore season in which he led the team in scoring at 17.6 points per game.

"I'm extremely excited to work with (Moser) and with the great staff he's assembled at Oklahoma," Scott said in the press release. "I'm also incredibly excited about joining the best college basketball league in the country — the SEC.

"Hopefully I can bring to OU some of things I've learned in my time at other coaching stops and help elevate the program and staff. Our family can't wait to get to Norman and get started."
