OU wide receivers coach Emmett Jones added to his plethora of incoming receivers by landing former Purdue wideout Deion Burks via the transfer portal on Tuesday.

The redshirt sophomore led the Boilermakers with 47 receptions for 629 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023. Burks was a three-star recruit out of Belleville High School in Belleville, Michigan.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound receiver was reportedly set to take visits to OU and Texas this week. Burks was ranked the No. 6 receiver in the transfer portal by On3.

Burks will arrive in Norman ahead of OU's inaugural season in the SEC along with four receivers from the 2024 class. Burks is the Sooners' third incoming transfer along with former Michigan State offensive lineman Spencer Brown and former San Diego State cornerback Dezjhon Malone.
