Roberts is a Norman native and attended Norman North High School. The 6-foot-5, 248-pounder recorded 43 catches for 541 yards in three seasons before transferring to Baylor ahead of the 2023 campaign. He caught 23 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown in 2023 with the Bears.
Roberts is the older brother of Nate Roberts, a four-star tight end in the class of 2025 who has been offered by the Sooners.
OU's tight ends combined for 252 receiving yards in 2023, the lowest mark from the position group since 2014. The Sooners lost their two top contributors from the tight end room, Austin Stogner, who doesn't have any eligibility left, and Blake Smith, who entered the transfer portal on Jan. 2.
Along with Roberts, OU landed former Southeastern Louisiana tight end Bauer Sharp via the transfer portal on Dec. 18. The Sooners also signed four-star recruit Davon Mitchell during the early period signing day on Dec. 20.
