Oklahoma volleyball: Sooners drop sixth straight

Oklahoma lost its sixth straight match Saturday to TCU in five sets, 18-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-21 and 4-15.

The Sooners' record drops to 9-7 (0-3 Big 12). The Horned Frogs move to 10-4 (3-1) on the season.

TCU outhit OU .239 to .122 and had 23.5 blocks to the Sooners' five.

Senior outside hitter Kimmy Gardiner led OU's attack with 20 kills while hitting .190 and adding 11 digs. Redshirt senior outside hitter Madison Ward also had a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs.

In her second straight start, sophomore outside hitter Madison Drescher hit a team-best .526 with eight kills. Sophomore setter Audrey Alford had 40 assists and a team-high 15 digs.

The Sooners travel to Morgantown to take on West Virginia on Friday, Oct. 7, at 5 p.m. and again the next day at 5 p.m.
