OU football began its second week of fall camp on Monday, and local media attended the first 35 minutes of practice. The Sooners practiced at OU's rugby field for the first time this season.

Kickoff is 26 days away, as OU will host Illinois State Aug. 30 in Norman.

Here is what OU Daily saw from Monday:

• Redshirt senior wide receiver Deion Burks did not practice on Monday.

• Senior running back Jovantae Barnes broke down the team to start practice.

• OU began practice with one-on-one action, and plenty of names shined, including freshman wide receiver Elijah Thomas.

• OU worked on kickoffs.

• Media didn’t observe offense vs. defense drills, as each position group was on its own following one-on-ones.

• Redshirt senior offensive lineman Febechi Nwaiwu, who was absent from practice on Friday, returned Monday and was a full participant. However, redshirt senior offensive lineman Derek Simmons was not at practice on Monday.

• Redshirt senior defensive back Kendel Dolby was not in pads Monday.
