The Chicago Cubs called up former Oklahoma pitcher Cade Horton to the major leagues on Thursday.

Horton is ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the Cubs organization on MLB Pipeline and was drafted by the Cubs in the first round of the 2022 MLB Draft.

In the 2022 College World Series, Horton was a key part of the Oklahoma team that advanced to the national championship before falling to Mississippi. In Game two of the championship series, Horton struck out 13 in 7.1 innings. 

Horton made 14 appearances and went 5-2 with a 4.86 earned run average in his time in Norman.
