Oklahoma baseball: Sooners fall to Longhorn 5-3

Passing the ball

Senior Renae Martinez passes the ball to sophomore Dylan Grove and gives him a pep talk in between pitches, March 31.

No. 16 Oklahoma (26-7, 4-3 Big 12) fell to Texas (21-12, 5-5 Big 12) Friday 5-3 in the first of the three-game series in Austin.

Dylan Grove pitched 5.2 innings for the Sooners. He gave up no earned runs on six hits, walked three and struck out ten. The first four of Texas' runs were unearned.

The Sooners had eight hits in the game, the same number as Texas, but also had two errors. Renae Martinez and Ben Hollas had three runs each.

Game two of the series is tomorrow at 4 p.m. before the series concludes Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
