Oklahoma baseball: Hunter Haley named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week

Junior outfielder Hunter Haley lands a hit during OU's game against Alcorn State Tuesday evening. The Sooners won 9-4. 

Oklahoma senior Hunter Haley was named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball News Monday.

Haley helped the Sooners to a 3-1 record at home last week and was a key part of their weekend series win over Baylor, in which he knocked in six RBIs. Overall Haley was 6-for-14 (.429) with eight RBIs and three home runs for the week. 

Haley joins former Sooners Kolbey Carpenter and Mac James as the only Oklahoma players to receive the honor. For the year the Nacogdoches, Texas native is hitting .224 with 14 RBIs and four home runs.
