Norman North dropped its second game in a row, falling to 4–3 after a 43–14 loss to Broken Arrow (5–2).

Broken Arrow defeats Norman North 43-14

When asked about the game and what went wrong, Head Coach Justin Jones kept it brief.

“Defensively, we just got bullied,” he said. “They ran the ball effectively, kept getting first downs, and kept our offense off the field.”

Sophomore quarterback Nash Henry said there’s a lot to improve on—not only for himself, but for the team as well—and that he’s determined to make it happen.

“Personally, I feel like I just have to play better at the quarterback position to put the team in a better position to win,” Henry said.

The young quarterback played what was likely his toughest game of the season, throwing three interceptions to the Tigers. Still, that didn’t stop him from focusing on the next opponent—the Yukon Millers.

Facing a team they defeated last year 42–21, both the head coach and quarterback emphasized that this is a new season and they’re not relying on last year’s result as they realize anything can happen in any given game.

“It’s a new year,” Henry said. “They have a new team, we have a new team—we just have to come out and make sure we play our game.”

“Last year is last year,” added Coach Jones. “We beat Broken Arrow last year, but as a team right now, we have to find ways to stop the ball.”

With that being said, Coach Jones and Norman North hope to make changes to ensure a win.

Norman North will host the Yukon Millers (3-4) at home this week.
