Former North Texas offensive lineman Febechi Nwaiwu committed to transfer to Oklahoma on Friday, he announced via X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter. He received an offer from the Sooners on Dec. 5.

Nwaiwu, who has two years of eligibility remaining, announced he would enter the transfer portal on Dec. 4. At 6-foot-4, 316 pounds, Nwaiwu was a third-team All-American Athletic Conference selection in 2023 despite dealing with injuries.

Between Nwaiwu's commitment and former Michigan State offensive lineman Spencer Brown's pledge, the Sooners are working to rebuild their line from the portal. Former OU standouts Tyler Guyton and Andrew Raym declared for the NFL draft, while Nate Anderson, Savion Byrd, Cayden Green and Aaryn Parks left for the portal.

The No. 12 Sooners will get a look at some of their new starting offensive linemen against No. 14 Arizona at 8:15 p.m. Dec. 28 in San Antonio on ESPN.

The transfer portal window is open from Dec. 4 to Jan. 3. Players can secure immediate eligibility if they have not previously used their one-time free transfer and they enter the portal within the designated windows.
