"I voted" sticker on Nov. 2, 2020.

Several elections and voter deadlines are ahead as the country prepares for the 2024 presidential election. Listed below are the registration and voting dates for Oklahoma and Texas. 

OU Daily included Texas voting dates in this article as a large portion of students are from that state. 

OU’s website provides resources that allow students to register within Oklahoma or another state, either online or through mail.  

March 

March 28-29 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., early voting for the April 2 election.

April 

April 2 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Board of Education general elections, Norman City Council Ward 2 runoff.

April 4, last day to register to vote for May 4 election (Texas).

May 

Elections in May are prohibited by Oklahoma state law during even-numbered years. 

May 4, special election for Senate District 15 (Texas).

May 24, voter registration due for June elections.

June 

June 3, absentee ballot requests due for primary elections.

June 13-14 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., early voting for primary elections. 

June 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., early voting for primary elections. 

June 18 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., primary elections.

July 

Elections in July are prohibited by Oklahoma state law during even-numbered years.

August 

Aug. 2, voter registration due for August elections.

Aug. 12, absentee ballot request deadline for runoff primary elections.

Aug. 22-23 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., early voting for runoff primary elections.

Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., early voting for runoff primary elections.

Aug. 27 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., runoff primary elections.

September 

Elections in September are prohibited by Oklahoma state law during even-numbered years.

October 

Elections in October are prohibited by Oklahoma state law during even-numbered years.

Oct. 11, voter registration for November election.

Oct. 21, absentee ballot request deadline for November election.

Oct. 30-Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., early voting for general election.

November 

Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., early voting for general election.

Nov. 5 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., general election.

December 

Elections in December are prohibited by Oklahoma state law during even-numbered years.
