OU’s Norman campus will be closed Friday as winter weather moves into central Oklahoma.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for Cleveland County until Friday at noon. Campus will close and transition to online classes and remote work, according to an email from the university.
Norman Public Schools has canceled all after school activities on Thursday and closed schools for Friday.
The city of Norman has announced several cancellations of meetings and activities including the City Council Oversight Committee, Planning Commission meeting and the closing of all city recreation centers.

Forecast from the National Weather Center: On Friday, the high is near 34 degrees Fahrenheit with a low around 18 degrees. The day will start cloudy and gradually become more clear.
Thursday’s high is 33 degrees Fahrenheit with a low of 19 degrees. Snow showers are likely in the afternoon with 1-2 inches of snow possible. A chance of snow showers extends into the evening.
