Annie Menz won the Democratic primary for House District 45 over Evan Shepherd, and will advance to the November general election to face Carolyn Womack-Bielich.
As of 8:06 p.m., with 13 of 15 precincts reporting, Menz earned 93.23% of votes, or 2,576 total votes, according to unofficial results from the Oklahoma State Election Board’s website. Shepherd earned 6.77%, or 187 total votes.Â
Census and district mapping data show House District 45 includes a mix of OU students, longtime Norman residents and rural‑edge neighborhoods. Candidate websites show affordability, education and access to state services are the top concerns raised by residents.
Annie Menz
Incumbent Rep. Annie Menz, a U.S. Navy veteran, was first elected as the District 45 representative in 2022 and again in 2024. Her platform centers on protecting natural resources, investing in public education, expanding mental health care access and supporting working families, according to her campaign website.
