gallogly office

President James Gallogly speaks to a reporter in his office July 10. Gallogly's presidential inauguration has been announced for August 16, 2018 at the Lloyd Noble Center.

The presidential inauguration of James L. Gallogly will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 at Lloyd Noble Center, 2900 S. Jenkins, Norman, according to an OU press release.

The event is open to the OU community and public and will be held in conjunction with New Sooner Convocation, an annual event for incoming OU students and their families.

“We are honored to install Jim (Gallogly) as OU’s fourteenth president,” Clayton I. Bennett, chairman of the OU Board of Regents, said in the release. “He is a transformative leader who is already making a great impact on the future of the university and its students.”

Since taking office on July 1, Gallogly has implemented an administrative restructuring plan and revealed his vision to help the university become more financially responsible. Gallogly has also kept tuition at its current rate, the first time tuition has not been raised in five years.

Gallogly is a 1977 alumnus of the OU College of Law and a former leader of several oil companies before becoming OU’s 14th president. For more information about the inauguration, click here.
