The city of Norman will hold a pre-development meeting on Thursday to discuss the proposal for a new district located on the southeast corner of Highway 9 and Jenkins Avenue.
The new district, named Sooner Village, will include hotels, apartments, townhouses, corporate spaces, storage spaces and shopping.
The application for the pre-development information meeting states that the city plans to plat and rezone the property “in order to facilitate a mixed-use development including, but not limited to commercial, office, light industrial, and a diversity of multi-family residential uses.”
Pre-development meetings are required for property owners seeking to undertake certain land use actions that could impact surrounding properties. These meetings allow applicants and neighboring property owners to informally discuss proposals and air concerns.
The pre-development discussion will be held from 5:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday in council chambers of the Norman Municipal Complex at 201 W. Gray St.
