Limbo Cafe will once again perform in Norman. The show is tonight at Liberty Drug, with a cover charge of $5. The Mimsies will open at about 10:30 p.m.Limbo Cafe has performed at Liberty Drug a number of times."I would say they've played here over 100 times, this is really a return to their home base," said Alex Reynolds, owner of Liberty D's."They always get a really good response from the audience. They're one of the most popular and talented bands in Oklahoma," Reynolds said.This will be the band's first performance with Layla Dougherty. The band has been together for five years, but recently lost their violinist when she moved away.As the new member of Limbo Cafe, Dougherty specializes in middle-eastern music. She plays the violin and the mandolin, among other instruments.Her musical talents add to the already diverse sound of Limbo Cafe.Some may deem the band as alternative, but they play a wide variety of music."I don't know that you could classify them," said Reynolds. "It's definitely rock, I guess you could call it new," said Patrick Weir, member of Limbo Cafe.Limbo Cafe encourages everyone to come early.
