Friday evening brought the 2018 Norman Music Festival into full swing.
With day two of the festival comes another round of bands, food trucks and festivities for Norman locals to enjoy. Music fans gather and stroll down Main Street, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the weekend. Among them are first-time attendees as well as seasoned veterans of the festival.
“We’ve just walked up and down the street,” said Laura McGraw, a first-time festival attendee. “It’s been fun to see all the different things going on, especially with the fair going on.”
Rachel Bateman, another festival newcomer, stated that while she is not sure what to expect quite yet, she is excited for the weekend.
“This is my first time at the festival,” Bateman said. “I have no idea what to expect so far.”
The festival, although new to some, is full of an atmosphere that keeps attendees engaged while they test the waters of the activities and experiences that it has to offer.
While there are many newcomers to the Norman Music Festival, its plethora of activities keeps a following of people that return each year for the excitement of the event.
“I was here last year,” said Jacob Rogers, festival attendee. “It’s always a fun variety.”
But music fans aren’t the only people enjoying the weekend. Participating bands also wander the streets before and after their sets, enjoying the weekend as well.
Nick Lovatto, drummer for Flock of Pigs, a performing band in the music festival, said he was excited about performing at Norman Music Festival for the first time.

Norman Music Festival will continue with more performances at noon on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
