Oklahoma wide receiver Jalil Farooq suffered a broken foot against Temple on Friday and will undergo surgery.

Farooq caught a 47-yard pass from sophomore quarterback Jackson Arnold during OU's second offensive snap of the night before exiting the game. He went to the locker room before halftime. He started all 13 games for the Sooners last season and totaled 694 yards and two touchdowns on 45 receptions.

Head coach Brent Venables confirmed postgame that Farooq would need surgery and will be out six to eight weeks.

Redshirt senior center Branson Hickman has been struggling with an ankle sprain during fall camp. He re-injured it during the first half and was seen wearing a boot on the sideline.

Next, Oklahoma will play Houston at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman.
