No. 10 Oklahoma (13-3) lost to Mississippi State (14-3) 81-77 on Thursday at Humphrey Coliseum.

Here are the takeaways and highlights from the loss:

Takeaways

• Shooting from the three-point range continued to be a battle. At the end of the first half, Oklahoma made three of 14 attempts (21.4%). At the end of the game, the Sooners improved, making eight of 26 three-pointers (30.8%). Five Sooners were able to make a three-pointer. Raegan Beers, Tot and redshirt senior guard Lexy Keys made the most with two each.

• OU improved on turnovers, but it continued to be a problem. Oklahoma struggled to communicate on both sides of the ball, allowing turnovers to happen. In the first quarter, Mississippi State stole the ball six times, forcing the Sooners to turn the ball over eight times. This led to the Bulldogs gaining nine points on turnovers. By the end of the game, the Sooners turned the ball over a total of 21 times, giving the Bulldogs 25 fastbreak points as a result.

• Fouling was also a struggle for Oklahoma. Against Mississippi State, Oklahoma had 21 personal fouls. In the second half, the Sooners had the most personal fouls in the game with a total of 16. Oklahoma had five personal fouls in the last 33 seconds of the game. Sophomore forward Sahara Williams and Beers were both in danger of fouling out of the game with four each. Williams ended her night with six points, five rebounds and two assists.

• From the free-throw line, Oklahoma made 13 of 16 attempts, with a free-throw shooting percentage of 81.3%, the highest free-throw percentage this season.

• From the field, the Sooners made 28 of 62 baskets, shooting 45.2%.

• Averaging 49.93 rebounds per game, Oklahoma had 44 rebounds against Mississippi State.

• This season, Oklahoma has averaged 22.6 assists per game and had 20 assists against the Bulldogs on Thursday.

Top Scorers

• Junior center Raegan Beers had 19 points and 10 rebounds, achieving her seventh double-double this season.

• Senior guard Payton Verhulst had 15 points, six rebounds and six assists.

• Redshirt senior center Liz Scott had 12 points, six rebounds and one assist.

• Redshirt senior forward Skylar Vann had seven points, five rebounds and one assist.

• Redshirt senior guard Nevaeh Tot had her 100th straight career start and finished with six points, one rebound and three assists.

The Sooners will head back to Norman to play Texas A&M (8-7) at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Lloyd Noble Center on ESPN2.
