Oklahoma added some much needed depth to the guard position Monday by picking up a an under-the-radar prospect from the class of 2016.
Jordan Shepherd, a 6-foot-3 point guard from Asheville, N.C., signed with the Sooners after visiting Norman this weekend. Shepherd had offers from just a handful of mid-major programs before OU recently started showing interest. He is the fifth prospect that coach Lon Kruger has signed from the 2016 class.

Shepherd joins Kristian Doolittle, Kameron McGusty, Matt Freeman and JUCO point guard Darrion Strong in OU's 2016 class.
In high school, Shepherd averaged 19.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
