Freshman catcher Kendall Wells took a pitch to the head early in game three of the Norman Super Regional against Mississippi State.

Wells took a pitch to the face in her second at-bat, leading to an array of boos from the Sooner faithful directed towards Bulldogs' junior left-handed pitcher Delainey Everett who delivered the pitch. A piece of Wells’ helmet cracked upon impact, but no visual damage could be seen on her face.
