A report released by OU Tuesday indicates the university began an investigation as early as March 2006 into former Sooner football players Rhett Bomar and J.D. Quinn and their work at a local car dealership.According to the report, the NCAA and OU President David L. Boren were sent an anonymous e-mail on March 3, 2006 that stated Bomar and Quinn were being paid for work they didnt do at Big Red Sports and Imports. OUs compliance office then began working with Big Red and investigated the players employment records.However, entire pages and many other sections of the report have been censored. OU cited student privacy laws, saying the laws work in conjunction with Oklahomas Open Records Act and do not define or limit what is considered a student record.OU student athletes, along with their employers, are required to fill out and sign forms indicating the place of employment, hours worked per week, wage and description of job duties. Bomar and Quinn reported working four days a week, averaging about five hours per day.The report stated former Big Red manager Brad McRae was aware Bomar and Quinn were being paid for hours they didnt work.It can also be concluded from the report that Bomar and Quinn were clocked in at Big Red and paid for hours that coincided with football practices or class times during their tenure as Big Red employees. hello there & you too
