The Norman Police Department arrested two suspects in connection to a fatal hit-and-run accident.

NPD responded to a reported injury collision between a car and a motorcycle on the evening of Sept. 19 at the 1400 block of 12th Avenue SE, Sarah Schettler, NPD public information officer, wrote in an email to OU Daily.

The motorist was turning east onto Commerce Drive from 12th Avenue SE when the car struck the motorist from behind while driving southbound on 12th Avenue. According to Schettler, the motorist was pronounced dead on the scene due to injuries sustained from the accident.

NPD located the striking vehicle abandoned at the 800 block of Alameda Street. Search efforts through the night were unsuccessful in finding the suspects.

On Sept. 26, police arrested Ehren Hutsell and Adam Hutsell in relation to the incident. Ehren Hutsell was identified as the driver and was charged with leaving the scene of a fatality collision. Adam Hutsell, the passenger, was charged with conspiring to commit a felony crime. Both will be booked in the Cleveland County Detention Center.

NPD and OUPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team are investigating the collision. No further updates are expected until the case moves to trial.
