At the Norman Public Schools Board of Education meeting on April 13, disagreement over the president and vice president nominations mirrored the split over district Superintendent Nick Migliorino’s contract, which was approved in a 3-2 vote in February.
OU Daily contacted NPS staff for a copy of Migliorino’s contract on Feb. 5, and NPS Communications Coordinator Jaron Spor sent the contract Wednesday. The Daily previously obtained the contract two days earlier, on April 13, from board member Annette Price.
Migliorino’s pay totaled $412,524 in the 2025-26 fiscal year, according to state data from early March. Migliorino is the highest paid superintendent in the state.
The Daily requested an estimate of Migliorino’s total compensation for this fiscal year, but Spor declined to provide a number, writing that everything needed to calculate it is in the contract.

The city of Norman will now offer a down payment assistance program for homebuyers in three core Norman neighborhoods, according to an April 9 press release.
The program is funded by the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, a federally funded initiative that provides grants to communities to expand affordable opportunities for low and moderate-income households.
The down payment assistance program will provide eligible homebuyers with up to $14,999 in down payment assistance. In order to qualify for the funding, applicants must purchase a home within one of the three eligible neighborhoods, meet the income limits established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and occupy the home as their primary residence for a minimum of five years for full forgiveness, according to the release.
The neighborhoods eligible for the program are Old Silk Stocking, First Courthouse and Original Townsite. Old Silk Stocking runs from Robinson Street to Main Street between James Garner and Porter avenues. First Courthouse runs from Robinson Street to Gray Street between Porter and Carter avenues. Original Townsite runs from Main Street to Alameda Street between Porter and Reed avenues.
