Norman Ward 6 residents voted to elect Joshua Hinkle to city council, beating Jerry Drewery, on Tuesday.
Of the 1,494 voters, 58.77% voted for Hinkle and 41.23% voted for Drewery, according to unofficial results from the Oklahoma State Election Board.
Hinkle, a Norman community banker with 18 years of financial service experience, wrote in a statement to OU Daily he is excited to learn more about his hometown.
“Thank you Norman for your support. I will always enjoy engaging with my neighbors and learning about the city I grew up in,” Hinkle wrote. “I will continue to be the best citizen of Norman that I can individually be and engage in collaboration as often as I can.”
