An apparent police raid on Wednesday at a newly opened head shop left the store’s shelves empty of glass pipes and other merchandise.
The police raided Fatt Hedz, 320 White St., at around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to an entry in Norman Police Department’s daily activity log. The log lists the nature of the call as “special assignment.”
The area was roped off with caution tape Wednesday evening.
When The Daily contacted Norman PD spokesman Tom Easley on Thursday, he said he would not comment on the raid because he was off duty, and no other officers could comment on the incident.
The Daily called Fatt Hedz' sister store in Oklahoma City, but an employee said he hadn’t heard from the store’s owners.
“They haven’t told us anything, and I haven’t heard anything, and I haven’t spoke to anybody to get direct confirmation about it,” the employee said.
A post to the store’s Instagram account on Thursday shows empty glass cases and shelves that once held glass pipes and other merchandise.
The post’s caption says the police raided the store because of paraphernalia.
The store was closed Thursday. Though cars were parked in front, it seemed only hookah accessories, lighters and other miscellaneous merchandise were in the store.
