The Norman Regional Health System announced it will move its services on July 29 from 901 N. Porter Ave. Hospital to 3300 HealthPlex Parkway.
The Porter Avenue location will now be called Porter Heath Village and will no longer provide emergency services, according to a press release.
The Emergency Department will move from the Porter Avenue location to the Norman HealthPlex on 3300 HealthPlex Parkway and will include inpatient care units such as the intensive care unit, surgical services and more.
The Norman Regional HealthPlex is a 168-bed, state-of-the-art specialty hospital with three main areas of service: cardiology and cardiovascular services, orthopedic and spine services and women's and children's services.
The Porter Avenue location will still offer health information management, the cancer management center, medical oncology and PET/CT scans. The Education Center is currently being remodeled and will open in the fall, according to the release.
Norman Regional’s first urgent care will begin seeing patients in the former ER space at Porter Avenue beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday.
Hospital patients can enter the HealthPlex location through its main entrance and follow the roundabout towards the circular entrance to drop off patients or visitors at the main door. For emergencies, individuals should use the dedicated emergency entrance located on the southeast side of the hospital.
The only public entrances to the Porter Avenue location will be the cancer management entrance, the northeast entrance and the urgent care entrance.
