...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 9 PM
CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 109 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, northern, northwest,
southeast, southern, southwest, and western Oklahoma and northern
Texas.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 9 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Black Lives Matter

PROTESTING PREJUDICE

WHAT NOW?

This week two anti-black lives matter protestors enraged OU students and faculty with racism and homophobic slurs. Police were called in to move the protestors from the South Oval and then from the Seed Sower statue because they were on university property. Pres. David Boren eventually stopped by to announce that he condemned what these men were saying and threatened to have them arrested if they moved onto university property. Walk-on running back junior Najee Bissoon also gave an impromptu speech at the protest shortly after. While students have come together to speak out and show unity against such discrimination, the rise in racial incidents has some students at OU feeling scared and vulnerable. FORMER OU FOOTBALL PLAYER FATALLY SHOT

WHAT NOW?

Former OU punter Michael Winchester was fatally shot Tuesday at the Will Rogers World Airport. The shooting suspect was later found dead in a car. 

JD Baker wins SGA Presidential Election

WHAT NOW?

J.D. Baker won the runoff election for SGA president with roughly 52 percent of the vote. He will be sworn in sometime after Thanksgiving.

COLD DEFEAT

WHAT NOW?

The Sooners came out on top Saturday with the win over the University of West Virginia Mountaineers at 56-28. The Sooners, who have now moved to the No. 7 spot on the Amway Coaches Poll, will play with high stakes when they face off against Oklahoma State at Bedlam Dec. 3. We'll see in December who will win the Big 12 Championship.
